After another great slate of football games, there is no doubt that some players will see a drastic change in their dynasty value. Every week, I will talk about 1 player that should see their value rise this week, 1 player that should see their value drop this week and 1 player that I expect to see a drastic change in their value with in the next couple of weeks
JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR – Pittsburgh Steelers: Rising
JuJu Smith-Schuster has looked awesome through two games this season. In 2 games, JuJu has hauled in 18 receptions for 240 yards and 1 touchdown. The 21 year old is showing us that he can be a huge focal point in this offense, even with Antonio Brown being on the field. For dynasty purposes, I am all in on JuJu. I think that there is a realistic chance of JuJu being a top 8 WR in terms of dynasty value by the end of this season. He’s young and is in one of the best offenses in the league. According to Dynasty League Football’s most recent ADP, JuJu was taken as the WR 14 off the board. I’m aggressively trying to buy JuJu at these prices and am even willing to “overpay” a bit. The sky is the limit for this kid and he has all the tools to eventually become the overall WR 1 in dynasty.
Derrick Henry, RB – Tennessee Titans: Falling
Derrick Henry has been one of the most frustrating players to own in dynasty. Since being selected with the 45th pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Henry has had a ton of hype due mainly to his size and production at Alabama. However, the hype around Henry just hasn’t matched his production in the NFL, up to this point. Coming into the 2018 season, it seemed that Henry would have a ton of opportunity, even with the arrival of Dion Lewis. But through two games, Henry has 28 rushing attempts for 82 yards and 0 touchdowns. He has also added 1 reception for 5 yards. I think Henry is talented, but for whatever reason, his talent is not turning into fantasy production. Maybe it’s because the team is still learning new Titan OC Matt Lafleur’s system or maybe it’s because Henry’s skill set isn’t transferring over to the NFL as we all once hoped. Either way, I think Henry is a hold for now. I’m not going out of my way to buy low on Henry and am not ready to sell. I want to see if things start to turn around for Henry as Mariota gets healthy and the rest of this offense continues to develop.
Kareem Hunt, RB – Kansas City Chiefs: Expect to become a Faller
As exciting as this Kansas City offense has been so far this season, I am starting to really worry about Kareem Hunt. If you look at Hunt’s fantasy points this week, things don’t seem to be too bad. But if you take away his week 2 receiving touchdown, you are looking at Hunt putting up only 14 points in full ppr scoring through 2 weeks. Now, I understand that touchdowns do count as points and helped make Kareem Hunt relevant week 2, but Kansas City is showing us that they are going to spread the ball around, making touchdowns inconsistent for all skill players in Kansas City. The discouraging thing for me is that Hunt is not rushing the ball terribly well and only has one reception through two games. In order for Hunt to live up to his current dynasty value, he is going to have to rush for more then 3.7 yards per carry and see a significant increase in the passing game, which I just don’t think is going to happen with all of the weapons currently in Kansas City. At this time, I’m going to start seriously shopping my couple of shares of Hunt before his value possibly starts dropping. I’d be trying to acquire a running back of similar value that seems to be more of a focal point in their offense, such as Jordan Hoard.
