It really is amazing how fast the fantasy football season has come and gone. Now it is time to make the final push to make the playoffs or make the roster moves to prepare for playoff match ups if you are already in. Week 10 also has a lot of players on bye weeks with 6 teams off. That means it is time to go deep into your bench and you will likely have names you didn’t expect to be relevant deciding fantasy winners.
Games of the Week: Minnesota @ Dallas (DAL -3)
This game brings a match up of two of the premier running backs in the NFL today. Dak continues to be one of the most reliable fantasy performers at the QB position, while Cousins is coming off a disappointing game after a hot start. For fantasy purposes it seems like Thielen will not play, which is good news to have early since this is a Sunday night game. After giving players a 0 after trying to play last week, owners won’t want Thielen back out there until he is ready.
Players to Watch: Dalvin Cook, Ezekiel Elliott, Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper
Fantasy Football X Factors: Kirk Cousins, Jason Witten, Irv Smith Jr., Bisi Johnson
Prediction for Winner: Dallas to win and cover. These are pretty evenly matched teams, but looking at how the season has gone Dallas has played better at home and all the Viking losses have come on the road. Which means I will take the home team.
Los Angeles Chargers @ Oakland Raiders (LAC -1)
It feels like every week I am praising Josh Jacobs. He has been great so far his rookie season and the Raiders should keep feeding him the ball. The Chargers are trying to get their season back on track and salvage their playoff chances. Melvin Gordon is being included in the offense more. The biggest surprise for the Chargers is multiple quiet weeks from Keenan Allen. He has been streaky for fantasy in the past, so it will be interesting to see how his game goes.
Players to Watch: Melvin Gordon, Josh Jacobs, Hunter Henry, Darren Waller
Fantasy Football X Factors: Hunter Renfrow, Keenan Allen, Derek Carr
Prediction for Winner: Oakland to win in an upset. After their offseason circus, the Raiders have impressed this season. The Chargers have been a very up and down team so relying on them is a difficult thing to do. I will take the home underdog in the upset.
Carolina @ Green Bay (GB -5)
Cam Newton has officially gone to the IR and there is talk he has played his last game as a Panther. The team has played well without him and gotten themselves in position to compete for a playoff spot carried by Christian McCaffery. Green Bay had a great start to the season, but they looked bad in Week 9 and they will be looking to put that behind them
Players to Watch: Christian McCaffery, Aaron Rodgers, Devante Adams
Fantasy Football X Factors: Jamaal Williams, Curtis Samuel, Jimmy Graham
Prediction for Winner: Green Bay to win, but not cover. Hard to imagine Kyle Allen coming into Green Bay and beating them in a game where they are looking to bounce back. McCaffery is enough on offense to keep the Panthers close enough to cover.
Kansas City @ Tennessee (KC -3.5)
This is a game to watch because of Patrick Mahomes returning. Normally the Titans are not one of my favorite teams to watch, but the seeing the offense of the Chiefs back at full strength makes this more interesting. I will continue to keep an eye on Travis Kelce. Even though he is 2nd in fantasy points at the TE position, it feels like he has been disappointing for his standards. The game matters for NFL purposes as well since the Titans still have their playoff hopes alive.
Players to Watch: Derrick Henry, Patrick Mahomes, Tyreke Hill
Fantasy Football X Factors: Ryan Tannehill, AJ Brown, Mecole Hardman
Prediction for Winner: Kansas City to win and cover. I expect the Titans to have trouble containing Patrick Mahomes in his return. The Chiefs find themselves in a spot where they need to keep winning for the hopes of a round 1 bye to stay alive.
