The fantasy playoffs are getting close, which is the most interesting part of week 11, because this is not a great week of NFL match ups. There are a few interesting games, including Monday Night Football in Mexico City, but overall there are a lot of forgettable match ups. However there are fantasy match ups to be won so us owners have to be ready.
Game of the Week Houston @ Baltimore (BAL -4)
A game with huge implications for the playoff picture. If Houston wins this will put them into great position for the 2 seed and a bye in the playoffs. They already hold a win over KC and a win this week would give them the head to head tie breaker over both. Baltimore meanwhile is looking to keep their hope for the 1 seed alive. Both teams have a lot of fantasy relevant players and gives us an exciting QB match up between 2 young dual threat QBs.
Players to Watch: Lamar Jackson, DeAndre Hopkins, DeShaun Watson
Fantasy Football X-Factors: Mark Andrews, Kenny Stills, Duke Johnson
Prediction for Winner: Baltimore to win and cover. Lamar Jackson will continue his push towards the NFL MVP and the Ravens will continue to ride the momentum they have been on and keep the inside track on a bye.
New England @ Phildelphia (NE -3.5)
A rematch involving the last team to beat the Patriots in a Super Bowl. Both teams are coming off a bye week so they’ve had a lot of time to prepare for each other. New England is looking to recover from their 1st loss of the season and get revenge for their Super Bowl defeat a few years ago. Tom Brady gets to face a Eagles defense that has struggled to stop the passing attack of opposing teams. The Eagles will need to over come the Patriots’ defense to keep themselves in good position in the NFC East.
Players to Watch: Mohamed Sanu, Tom Brady, Zach Ertz
Fantasy Football X Factors: Miles Sanders, Sony Michel, James White
Prediction for Winner: Patriots to win and cover. Even though both teams are coming off a bye, it is hard to imagine a 2nd loss in a row for New England with 2 weeks to prepare.
Chicago @ LA Rams (LAR -6.5)
I like to think of this game as the 2019 NFC disappointment bowl. Both were considered contenders coming into the year and both have disappointed. This has an added battle of disappointment between the QBs with Goff versus Trubisky. This game is interesting for a lot of reasons, but not because I expect it to be a quality football game. This far into the season, it seems like these offense are what they are for 2019.
Players to Watch: David Montgomery, Allen Robinson, Cooper Kupp
Fantasy Football X Factors: Gerald Everett, Mitchell Trubisky, Jared Goff
Prediction for Winner: Rams win but don’t cover. Hard to trust an offense lead by Goff to win by a touchdown. It feels like the only way the Rams cover is if their defense makes some big plays.
Jacksonville @ Indianapolis (IND -3)
This game features division rivals with QBs returning from injury. Foles has not played since week 1 and Brissett only missed 1 game. The AFC South is a pretty tight division, if Houston loses to Baltimore the winner of this match up gives themselves a much better shot at winning the division. The Colts are looking to rebound after losing to the Dolphins and the Jaguars are hoping the returning Foles brings a steady hand to their offense. It will be interesting to see if the chemistry between Foles and Westbrook is re-established.
Players to Watch: Leonard Founette, Marlon Mack, Jacoby Brissett, DJ Chark
Fantasy Football X Factors: Nick Foles, DeDe Westbrook, Zach Pascal
Prediction for Winner: Colts to win and cover. The Colts have been impressive with Brissett in the game and they have stayed in the playoff picture without Andrew Luck. I expect the Colts to continue to impress.
